In June 2017 the Cooma Old Boys took on the might of the CCXV in their much anticipated inaugural game.
On a full card at Rotary Oval, the much anticipated game was preceeded by a Gentlemen's Lunch at the Alpine Hotel, enabling the team to ensure they were sufficiently hydrated prior to the match.
Training camp reports had been provided during the week leading up to the game to provide insight to the elite training and commitment of the team.
Under the captaincy of Nick Farr-Jones the CCXV took to the field to the roar of the crowd.
The half time team talk was delivered by Peter FitzSimons accompanied by a round of port.
All too soon the game was over and the teams retired to the sheds and back to the Alpine Hotel. A raucous evening with a boat race won by Cooma and a very well supported auction of the team jerseys rounded out a superb day, with an excellent outcome from the generous donations.
We look forward to the next CCXV game which is in the planning stages currently.
