The mighty CCXV make a very welcome return to the paddock for their first outing in 2020 at Bowral on May 16th. CCXV Squad places are being tightly contested and updates will be posted over the coming weeks as those who make the grade are confirmed into the highly prized team list. As always our ranks will be bolstered by much needed ex-Wallabies. Some are still negotiating leave-passes but those who have already negotiations under control include Geoff Didier, Dean Mumm and Pat McCutcheon.
Whilst not playing, Rob Horne will be in attendance, no doubt adding some useful commentary on the unfolding events from the sidelines and will be barracking from the CCXV merchandise marquee on game day. His critique of Dean Mumm's performance in particular, will probably be enlightening at the very least. There will be a raffle in the CCA merchandise marquee with a wide variety of prizes to be drawn, so come along and grab a ticket and have a chat to the CCXV entourage. A mighty team needs a mighty coach, and we are delighted that we are delighted that the boys put in such a stellar performance last time around that the legend that is Bob Dwyer has confirmed that he is back to take the helm as CCXV Coach once again.
Bowral RU have confirmed they have a squad locked in and their sub-committee are working on the fine details of the off-field activities, to ensure that the week end provides everyone with the opportunity to participate and help raise funds as well as enjoy the entertainment.
Further details will be released of activities on Saturday 16th, but at this stage there is a plan to host a Junior Skills and Drills Clinic with the CCXV Wallabies in the morning.
This will be followed by the mighty CCXV vs Bowral Wilted Tulips – as the curtain raiser to Bowral's First Grade match.
As is tradition, once the play on the field is complete, the real competition commences with a CCXV ‘Stumps’ Boat Race with Wilted Tulips and country clubs.
The day will be rounded off with a Gala Event and Charity Auction- with ticketing details and further information to be provided shortly.
