CCXV v Crookwell Dated Dogs

So our intrepid rugby team took to the field for the first time in 2019, and the fact the calendar implied it was Summer, it rained, hailed and allegedly snowed during our visit to Crookwell.  Even the Cooma boys had their jackets on.  Just as well we are a team combined of mostly forwards who don't really notice these things.

Team dinner the night before the game brought the inevitable raft of first fines - including for some who were absent -  and big feed along with a few nerve calming beverages while Coach Bob Dwyer scoped out what he had to work with.  The ultimate assessment at the end of the day was "He got the best out of an easily -coached group".

And so to the incidental matter of the rugby.

There is still some dispute as to the number of try opportunities butchered by DONUTS Duncan Bremner.  At least one should have been a walk in opening try - but not to be.  Let's face it, we've all been there.

The opportunity to see John, Greg and our own Dean Mumm play together was pretty special for everyone.  John Mumm won the CCXV Front Rowers Union Award for the match - a truly outstanding contributor to our team and without doubt BOG for the 'Mummies Boys'

Fines too numerous and in some cases socially inappropriate to mention were handed out post match ahead of some singing and goanna wrestling.  Standard!

The Coach

We were delighted to engage Bob Dwyer for our CCXV match in Crookwell!   The calibre of our coaches is humbling with Bob following on from Rod Macqueen in 2018.

Bob, of course, needs no introduction having brought 'Bill" to Australia for the first time in 1991. We are sure that Bob will place coaching the CCXV on the top shelf of his achievements to date.

The Dynasty Sport team have been forging a solid reputation for delivery and service, whilst providing the highest quality on and off-field garments to professional partners, clubs and schools here in Australia and across New Zealand.  The CCXV Management and Team are very excited to see how they bring TeamPlayer Apparel's kit design to life for our next match in Crookwell on March 30th 2019 against Crookwell Dated Dogs.

With over a decade of high level experience in the team wear and sports apparel industry, Dynasty Sport are expanding their operational footprint in key areas across Australia and New Zealand at a time where trust in the brand, and superior levels of customer service continues to build.

Recent partnership announcements with the Queensland Reds and Gold Coast Titans have seen Dynasty Sport provide on and off field apparel, along with retail ranges for the clubs aehad of their respective 2019 seasons.

We are confident that the same quality kit offering will have our Wallaby and Old Boys Rugby Legends looking sensational, whilst enabling them to perform at their best for the season ahead.

The Cauliflower Club XV

The journey of the CCXV

It all began in June 2017 when the Cooma Old Boys took on the might of the CCXV in their inaugural game on a full card at Rotary Oval.  The game was preceded by a Gentlemen's Lunch at the Alpine Hotel, enabling the team to ensure they were sufficiently hydrated prior to the match.

Training camp reports in the week leading up to the game provided insights to the elite training and commitment of the team.  On the big day, captained by Nick Farr-Jones the CCXV took to the field to the roar of the crowd. The half time team talk was delivered by Peter FitzSimons accompanied by a round of port.

A raucous evening back at the Alpine Hotel with a boat race won by Cooma and a very well supported auction of the team jerseys rounded out a superb day, with an excellent outcome from the generous donations.
