Saturday 14th October was a really great day of Country Rugby at the Yass 'Boys Above' Charity Rugby Day.  The day kicked off with the Junior Rams Rugby Presentation – complete with the mascot from the  Brumbies -  Brumby Jack, and players James Dargaville and Blake Enever in attendance.

Over 300 parents and players were in attendance and there was a really great atmosphere. The new Juniors President is passionate about building the Junior Club and bridging the current players gap between U12’s and Seniors so it was good to see such a healthy turn out for a Country Juniors Club. Ben Alexander arrived in the afternoon and spoke to the crowd before presenting the Yass Rams with their Charity Jerseys in the change rooms..

On the field Yass Rams went on to give the Tuggeranong Vikings ‘Brown Snakes’ a dead-set hiding by 8 tries to 1 which, considering they have only won twice in eight years, created a pretty energetic vibe which continued to the after-match function where 27 Jerseys were auctioned and the raffle was held.

The Club was in fine form and it was great to see some ‘old school’ traditions being upheld and celebrated – boat races, plenty of Rugby songs with the WHOLE club all joining in, a bit of nudity and a fair amount of beer and rum all combined for a great country rugby day.
