Cauliflower Club were sponsors of the recent Hunter Valley Disability Sports Expo, held at The University of Newcastle). The event was an opportunity to Come ’n’ Try a range of wheelchair sports, particularly those available in the Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter regions. Demonstration wheelchair sports included: basketball, rugby, tennis, powerlifting, table tennis, lawn bowls and a track and hand cycling display.
The event featured many successful athletes including Lauren Parker, para-triathlete and WS NSW member who won a Bronze medal on debut at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games just a few days before the event.. Two of the three events featured in the para-triathlon, hand-cycling and road racing were on display
The Cauliflower Club has a strong relationship with WS NSW, particularly in the Hunter region, as we have provided multiple trailers and rugby wheelchairs to enable regular and ongoing sporting opportunities in Newcastle. Our Director Raeleen Hooper was interviewed about the expo.
